Join us at the end of each month for our monthly employment events.

Ensure you register so that you received the additional 1-1 support finding employment or connecting you with potential employees.

The goal of this event is to work 1-1 with Ukrainian that are looking for employment. We want to track and ensure you are getting employed. We also want to work 1-1 with the businesses that are hiring and connect you with skilled employees.

Meet employers, potential employees, and volunteers who want to help.

Presentations

• Conestoga College - Learn about government incentives to hire Ukrainian newcomers as well as their various job related English classes.
• Construction Ontario - Learn about the benefits of working in the trades, the steps you need to take, becoming an apprentice and getting paid to do it.
• Kitchener Waterloo Multicultural Center - Learn about how to remove employment restrictions on your work visa.
• Gautham Kolluri, Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant- Will talk about how to get Perminent Residency

6:30 - 7:00 pm

Speed Table Topics: Networking based on industry

Sit down with people who want to help you find employment during this 30 minute speed networking. Meet with employers and volunteers who want to get to know the Ukrainians looking for employment and problem solving how to find employment quickly.

7:00 - 8:00 pm

Visit Businesses and Employment Resources

• Kitchener Waterloo Multicultural Center will be available to give tips on resume writing and help you to understand the other types of support they offer. You can also sign up to attend a session to complete the paperwork to remove restrictions on  your work visa.
• Conestoga College will be registering people for 1-1 information and employment coaching sessions.
• Security Guard Course.ca will be attending to speak about the type of work you can get after getting qualified using their online security guard training. They also have an online option for smart serve.
• Construction Ontario will be available to speak with people about their free virtual online training, as well as apprenticeship opportunities, and will offer resume support specifically for when you apply for construction or trade jobs. Get access to Construction Ontario’s free virtual training by being a member of WR Grassroots. You must complete our job intake form on the Ukrainian page.
• Loblaws will be in attendance to hire for General Warehouse / Assembler Shift: Full-time - Days, Afternoon or Night shifts
• KW Driving will be at the event to talk about semi truck driving training
• Presentation and discussions about getting your Perminent Residence in Canada

Volunteers are also needed to help with translation support and to be connected with someone who needs help finding employment.

Children are welcome at this event.
