Ukrainian Benefits Concert
Join us for a noble cause on October 22, as Waterloo Region Grassroots Response to the Ukrainian Crisis and St. Matthew’s Church come together to host a unique benefits concert.

Our volunteers, which include hosts, can receive 50% off their and their family's tickets.
Free parking is available across the road at the mutli-level parking garage.

Performance
Be captivated by the mesmerizing sounds of the international artist, Dariia Lytvishko. Dariia has been selflessly giving charity organ recitals throughout Europe, England, and now, Ontario, aiming to raise funds for humanitarian support.
In addition to Dariia Lytvishko, two other Ukrainians who have fled the war on Ukraine will be performing on piano and guitar once the doors open.
Guest Speaker : Ivan Jaworsky
We will have a special guest speaker providing an update on the war on Ukraine and the looming crisis of the CUAET Visa closing on March 31, 2024. With almost 1 Million Ukrainians still to arrive, and only 200,000 arriving in the last 1.5 years, how can Canada cope?

Why Your Presence Matters
The funds raised during this event will be utilized by WR Grassroots Response to assist Ukrainian newcomers registered within our group. This encapsulates newcomers in the Waterloo Region and surrounding such as Guelph, Palmerston/Harriston, Milverston, Ayr, Stratford and more.
Our 1.5 year journey has seen us help over 1,000 people and families fleeing the war on Ukraine, with many seeking our help while still overseas and others in desperate need because they are homeless in Ontario. The numbers of people needing help are growing again as the March 31, 2024 deadline looms, approximiately 1 million Ukrainian have 6 months to enter Canada to activate their CUAET Visa or it is void.
Because of the urgent crisis coming we are expanding. We are looking for communities in Ontario and potentially Canada to invite us to partner and help build their capacity.
The challenges faced by the Ukrainian families affected by war are immense, and this is where our commitment steps in. From housing to job placements, from healthcare to education, and from cultural integration to mental health support; WR GrassRoot aims to provide a holistic support system.
The importance of this event is multifold:
- Emergency Solutions:
The proceeds will be directed towards creating additional emergency and short term housing (under 3 months)
- Benefit Needs:
The funds will contribute directly to the many needs of the Ukrainian newcomers affected by war: short & long term housing, food, clothing, essential items, social & mental support, settelment efforts and more.
- Impact:
Your participation and donation will strengthen our mission of fostering community and empathy, aiding in cultural integration, education, mental health, and more.
Your support can empower these individuals to rebuild their lives in a supportive community, imbued with dignity and hope.

These tickets are for seats on the main area of the church. Specific seating is not assigned. The doors open at 2:15 pm to allow entrance. There will be a silent auction table as well as live music during this time.

Children 16 year old and under are free. You can put $0 in the ticket price or pay what you wish for the ticket. These tickets are for seats on the main area of the church. VIP ticket holders will receive a personal gift as well as be invited to a VIP tour of one of our Ukrainian guest houses. Specific seating is not assigned.
