According to military reports, September was the first month of the war when mutual attacks on the rear regions of both countries did not stop for a single day.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 886 Ukrainian drones were shot down over Russian regions in September. The intensity of Ukrainian attacks has been growing since the beginning of the summer, especially in August, when the Russian military department reported the destruction of 751 Ukrainian drones against 454 drones in July. Since August, attacks on Russian regions have been occurring daily.
In turn, Russia launched 1,331 Shahed-type attack drones at Ukraine in September, according to reports from the Ukrainian Air Force. This is much more than in any of the previous months of the war. The intensity of Russian shelling has been increasing since the beginning of 2024. Since July, the number of drones launched has doubled every month. In August, the Ukrainian military reported 790 drone attacks, compared to 426 in July. At the same time, September became the first month when drone attacks on Ukrainian cities occurred every day.
