Ukrainian Support in Listowel and Surrounding Areas

Join others in learning about the support needed by current Ukrainian newcomers in your area. Also, discuss the support Listowel and the surrounding areas can offer and further let's discuss what the future might look like if additional housing is created for people in need.

There will be a meeting on March 27 & April 2.

You are welcome to attend one or both.

We are inviting local service clubs, churches, community groups, individuals, council members, employers, service organizations, and anyone else who would like to create a stronger network

There are amazing people in Listowel and surrounding areas already supporting Ukrainian newcomers. Let's talk about how we can better support each other and them and see if we can support more people in need.

Our Listowel Guest House was created approximately 2 months ago and currently has 4 people with room for 1 more person.

We are currently discussing the idea of creating more spaces if we can build a stronger network of support.

Grassroots is connected with volunteers within the Palmerston area who are coordinating several houses. There are also volunteers within the Harriston area who have been with our group for close to 2 years.

Grassroots Response receives around 8-11 requests from families and people every day seeking help in finding housing with many of them also needing employment. We have been able to help over 850 people with shelter over the last 2 years. Sometimes they need help for 1 week and some have needed support for over a year.

We hope to increase the settlement of Ukrainian newcomers in the Listowel and surrounding areas by establishing and building a stronger network.
