As the Canadian program CUAET for Ukrainian refugees nears its end, the community is coming together to assist those facing challenges due to the war. Today, Grassroots Response is proud to announce the launch of a fundraising initiative with the goal of raising $200,000 within two months to support Ukrainian newcomers in Canada.
Ukrainians have encountered significant difficulties as a result of the war in their homeland. They arrived in Canada seeking safety and new opportunities for themselves and their families. However, with the closure of the CUAET program, they are facing new challenges related to financial resources. The hotel rooms paid by the government are now only being given to more vulnerable groups. This leaves others to sleep in the airport, enter unsafe housing arrangements, enter the homeless system.
That's why we're reaching out to everyone willing to help Ukrainians in their difficult situation. Our goal is to raise $200,000 within two months to provide newcomers with a roof over their heads and a new chance for adaptation in Ontario. Your donations will help them access housing, food, clothing and other essentials needed.
